I wish the tears sliding down the

Violin strings could comfort me!

Or those drops striking the stripes

When happy, could reverberate bliss!

I wish there were songs in my life!

That changed reflecting the state

Of scenes, both within and beyond

Canonically interpreted by my brain

Songs that could turn years to few

Moments when life gets too routine

With pauses having extended reality

To cherish those cream in bitter soup

I am sure that they will, at times,

Help me to sort out my actual mood!

For there have been a million times,

Perplexed, trying to figure it out!

I wish there were someone to play

Those background tracks when

You felt heroic or met the love of

Your life; enriching those memories!

If the breeze that blew past could,

Play flute, the rain fell on the drums

And a guitar by the windy paddy did

Strum chords and strike your notes!

It would magnify the bursts of joy

Or lessen the pain deep within as

It would ensure that there are a few,

Who really do know what I truly feel!

Our footsteps gave colour to:

A canvas big enough for everyone,

We knew to tread on; some followed.

Others tried filling the voids!

We were trying to fit into a puzzle: One,

Without a unique solution, revealing,

The mismatching edges on viewing from,

A different page in the cosmic play!

The moment that I longed arrived.

Couldn’t make out if it were a dream!

I was tensed at the entry as we,

Hadn’t rehearsed a single verse!

She stood there still, beside me.

I could see my smile in her eyes!

They were just the same that I had,

Seen vividly in countless dreams!

Reading my face, the audience,

Waited for a mistake, But to

My surprise, her words drove

Away my doubts: She was the one!

Together we enacted what was written.

Living through every moment of it!

Mood did swing occasionally from love

to like and passion to indifference!

Moments passed became hours, Days replaced

Them which was lost in depths of years!

Not a single moment did pass when joy,

Wasn’t doubled whenever we shared it!

Then I stumbled upon a scene that marked,

Her exit. I felt my heart pause for,

A beat or two! I was left with just a page.

But He insisted that the show must go on!

Now After all these years when,

Curtains are about to descend; I am

Calm and composed, as I know it’s,

Just the stage that will be different!

all the worlds a stage

I have tried to write this poem from the perspective of an old man who turns back to his trail. He knows that his days are coming to an end but isn’t sad because of his life long experiences. Hope you guys enjoyed reading it……
